Rumors of a Summer 2007 reunion tour by The Police are getting noisier, with Jonathan Cohen reporting for Billboard.com that the band has booked rehearsal space in Vancouver. The band is also rumored to be performing as part of the 2007 Grammy telecast on Feb. 11th.
On Friday, February 2nd, two of the most awesomest jangle-rific pop bands of all time are playing together at Cat’s Cradle in Chapel Hill, North Carolina — The dB’s and Mayflies USA. And best of all, TICKETS ARE STILL AVAILABLE!!! What the heck are you waiting for? Nerd rock road trip!
Once upon a time, I used to publish a li’l music magazine. I never once even attempted to sell out the editorial in order to boost ad sales. I guess that’s why we never became a highly influential force within the indie rock genre like those Trump-like captains of industry over at Amplifier Magazine. Haw haw!

You have until Sunday, February 11th to score yourself a giant Hefty bag full of weed. Why, you ask? Well, that’s the day that Adult Swim debuts Saul of the Mole Men, of course.

If yer in the Atlanta area, head on over to Lenny’s Bar tonight for The Indicators’ last show before they throw in the towel and move on to other things. Ironically, the show is also a CD release party for the new Indicators disc Not Long Till Dark. Go figure. The always awesome Young Antiques are on the bill too. Doors open at 9. The music will be loud, the beer will be cold, and life will be good.
Apples In Stereo have released a cool new video, directed by Elijah “Frodo” Wood, for the track “Energy” from their forthcoming CD New Magnetic Wonder. You can watch it at MTV Overdrive, which I guess is the only place MTV shows videos these days? Anyhow, it’s worth the click. New Magnetic Wonder comes out on Feb. 6th.

Eliot Van Buskirk has a piece on Wired News that suggests this will be the year that the major lables finally clue in to the fact that DRM isn’t doing them any favors, and make the move to plain ol’ MP3s. A boy can dream, can’t he?
