• The Rosebuds kick off this week’s Radio Without Borders from University of Texas at Austin’s KUT, a live in-studio performance show. There’s a couple of other tasty acts on the podcast you should give a listen to as well. Click here or download the mp3.
• All Songs Considered recently broadcast a live show by The National from Washington DC’s 9:30 Club. They regularly air shows from the storied club, so checking out the archives at their site is always advised. Stream the show here, or download the mp3.
• On the 4th of July Fresh Air featured a story on Mary Weiss, former lead singer of the Shangri-Las when she was but a teen. Ms. Weiss recently released a rockin’ new disc on Norton Records. Use the Fresh Air link above or download the you-know-what.

In what has to be one of the coolest and most complex movie tie-ins ever, 7-Eleven has converted eleven of their stores into Kwik-E-Marts to celebrate the pending release of The Simpsons Movie. In addition to wrapping the chosen stores in cartoony garb and sinage, they’re also stocking items from the Springfield Kwik-E-Mart on the shelves! You simply must check out either this photo gallery here, or maybe this one here, because you have to see it to fully appreciate it. And yes, the donuts are frosted pink with sprinkles.

Unfortunately there’s not one anywhere near the Atlanta area, the closest is in Orlando– about 450 miles away from Rockhead World Headquarters. That’s quite a hike to make through Georgia and Florida in July just to sate my Squishy fix.
