Another excellent installment of Will It Blend wherein our hero uses the Blendtec device to put an ass-whupping on Guitar Hero III. Definitely worth a view just to see how the bland blender man makes the git fit!
Here at JRHQ, we’ll be dining on Flapjack Jesus and PBR to commemorate this special holiday. Won’t you join us?
Here’s a little YouTube fun put together by the writing staff of The Daily Show, broadcasting from the picket line in NYC. It stars writer Jason Ross and a few other familiar faces, like TDS ‘correspondent’ John Oliver– in wardrobe! It’s a nicely done piece:
The Daily Show writers have set up a profile over at YouTube, so maybe there’s a chance we’ll see some more from them. [ via HuffPo ]
By the way, did you notice that local television station/protector of decency WSB finally got off of its inbred, retardo, bible belt, easily offended-by-jokes-it-doesn’t-understand ass and started airing Jimmy Kimmel Live? Finally now we too in the Atlanta Metro Area can stare at our televisions not laughing at Kimmel’s jokes. So, if you’re tired of seeing repeats of Letterman, Leno, et al; tune into ABC tonight at 12:05 and start watching repeats of JKL.
Remember– if you haven’t seen it, it’s new to you!
Could somebody please just pay these people their four cents so we can avoid having to watch Howie Mandel and his briefcase-toting fembots every stinkin’ night?
Here’s a nice, albeit a wee bit slanted, overview of what the writer’s strike is all about:
(Yes, I know, we need to get the monkey called YouTube off of our back)

In checking out this installment of PTF, you might get the impression that NPR and I are BFF…
Radio Without Borders features live performances recorded at Austin NPR station KUT. This mp3 link will score you an episode featuring a tune by Okkervil River and a performance by one of the greatest songwriters to ever shoot a man in self defense, Billy Joe Shaver.
NPR’s All Songs Considered has been rocking the live concerts lately. Need proof? Then download this here mp3 and dig Spoon recorded live at the 9:30 Club in DC recently. It even features an interview with the band after the live set. Also, there’s a New Pornographers (with Neko Case) live show available for streaming at this page. Speaking of The New Pornographers, All Things Considered aired a review of their latest disc– it goes without saying that critic Meredith Ochs dug it.
More NPR Goodness: Fresh Air recently did an interview with the always interesting Dave Grohl of The Foo Fighters and a few days before that, did a feature on Fiery Furnaces (it’s a couple minutes in).
Please enjoy some light reading while listening!
UPDATE 10/30: NPR.org and All Songs Considered have made the mp3 of the New Pornographer’s live concert available right here.
Even more shocking than the fact that Dylan drives– Dylan drives an Escalade!!

Just freaking awesome.
This guy who goes by the handle StSanders over there on teh YouTubes takes video of the various Guitar Gods and overdubs some less than stellar fret work over the original solos. He drops in some other sound effects and the result is comedy– sweet, sweet comedy. Eddie Van Halen, Slash, Clapton, and a few others have all gotten the treatment, but the following example featuring Jake E. Lee tearing it up while Ozzy acts like Ozzy had me laughing so hard I almost peed myself:
[ Thank you, Wired ]
And he rises from the Bad Guy Smoke like a Phoenix!
